Hello, my name is Kevin McCormack, and I welcome you to my website. I am a Stanford-educated geoscientist who loves to delve into the inner workings of the earth. My research focuses on the confluence of geomechanics and seismology, especially with application to induced seismicity in geologic carbon sequestration. 

These four questions guide my current research:

1. How can the sizes, orientations, locations, and geometries of faults be characterized prior to fluid injection?

2. How can real-time tools be used to assess changes in the hazard prediction during the lifetime of fluid injection?

3. How can characterizing the state of stress with novel techniques lead to a more accurate description of induced seismicity hazard?

4. Will geologic carbon sequestration be a critical component in the fight against climate change?

My journey is ongoing, and with each step, I hope to expand the frontiers of human knowledge.
